The Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole has denied clemency for Troy Davis. This is tragic news and it means Troy will likely be executed on Wednesday, despite major doubts about his guilt. There's one more thing we can do -- Chatham County DA Larry Chisholm could still ask a judge to withdraw Davis' death warrant. Join us in calling on him to do so. -----> [link]

STOP the construction of Nuclear Plants in Akkuyu and Sinop (Turkey)

Recently the Turkish Government announced its decision to construct two nuclear plants in the region of Akkuyu and Sinop, a decision which entails great risk for the broader Aegean region, taking into account the region's seismicity and unique cultural features. A clear proof of the underlying risks involved in the use of nuclear energy is the recent accident in Fukushima, Japan.

The University of the Aegean, sharing the concerns of the residents of the area, where it has been founded and functions, is convinced that the use of nuclear energy has no place in a development with milder environmental characteristic for the societies in the Aegean region. For this reason, it has initiated a petition, aiming at the prevention of the construction of nuclear plants by highlighting the risks involved and by raising the awareness of the academic community, of all conscious citizens and organizations in Turkey, Greece and worldwide.

I don't know what I'm doing. I don't think I ever did but now I'm sure of it.
I can't shoot what I used to...and I don't mean that I've tried and couldn't
accomplish it...no...I mean that I can't even think of doing that. I feel that
I have seen so much "work" out there (including mine) that I am sick of it.
I keep catching myself admiring either old black and white photography or new
photographs that can pass as old black and white photography and then I like
completely random photographs and mostly snapshots. what's happening?
At the same time I am seriously considering building a darkroom and learning
how to print black and white photographs. Why? I don't know. Where am I going
with it? I don't know. Am I going anywhere with it or will I get sick of it by
next week? I DON'T KNOW. I mean what is this obsession of capturing images and
then looking at them? What?

PS. I am editing this entry in order to ask people to post their comments in English.
This is an international website and at least in my opinion an international topic for discussion so everyone should have the chance to read and perhaps reply to any potential comments.

I want to see some great photography.
I want to see new work and not old famous photographers.
I don't want to see fashion or glamour or fetish.
I want to see portraits, nude portraits, and street photography mostly.
Is anyone listening? Is anyone doing something new and fresh and interesting?
Seriously...is there???? I am tired of seeing the same names of fashion photographers
as the new great artistic photographers of our time. I remember meeting some guy
who owns an agency that manages fashion photographers and MUAs and stylists.
He told me with great confidence that art copies fashion and at the time I felt
sorry for him. Now I'm beginning to feel that he might be right when it comes to today's
work. Maybe I'm jaded from looking at so much work...maybe it's the internet and all the
access one can have to everything in seconds...I don't know...I don't care...I just
want to see something that will make me say "Damn!" and I don't mean one photo in a
portfolio of hundreds of photos. I mean I want to see a whole body of work that will
make me say "Damn!".
Again...is anyone listening? Please...

...uhm...I created this community Pelaginoi
in Livejournal. Just a silly thing like most things I tend to do.
It probably doesn't interest anyone besides meself but
feel free to join if you like...you can always un-join.
ok?....ok!!

uhm...it will be mostly photos of that particular ex-(and might be future) club
and music videos (mostly jazz, retro, etc...)....ok?....ok!!

Oh! Also...after reading the profile information, any
questions/suggestions you might have might help me
make the info a bit more friendly...since no one
probably knows what I'm babbling about...ok?....ok!!

Oh come on, I'm not good at presenting things so just
go take a look and either join or ignore it. ok?...ok!!

Thanks. Bye.

I used to paint a few years ago and I want to start again.
I used liquitex medium viscosity acrylics and was very satisfied with the results.
Then I couldn't find them anymore so I tried what was supposed to be
the best choices over here (in Athens)...Golden acrylics and Lascaux acrylics. I didn't like their
colours though. I found some internet dealers who sell liquitex (medium viscosity) paints but
the paints come in tubes or small canisters. I paint on BIG canvases so the 2oz paints are not
very useful to me especially when I have to order them from another country. I mean if I run
out of a colour in the middle of working on a painting I will have to wait for a few weeks
probably until I can continue working. The only place I found with bigger canisters was
[link]
I opened an account there, took me some time to complete my huge order...then they sent me a form I had to fill and FAX(???) back to them so that they can confirm...fax number wasn't working...took a few emails back and forth until they told me that I can just email them the form...so I did...they said "thank you"...today I receive an email from them:

"DEAR KONSTANTINOS,
Your order has been canceled due to unavailable stock.    Please note that
no charge has been applied to your account.   We're sorry for any
inconvenience this may have caused."

...that's funny...I ordered almost $800 worth of paints from them...was it all "unavailable stock"...
...I wonder...

Anyways...does anybody know of any internet stores that sell liquitex medium viscosity BIG canisters (8oz or 200ml at least) worldwide?
If not, does anyone know of any fluid acrylics that are better than Golden or Lascaux when it comes to colour quality and where I can get them from???

I haven't been replying to comments or posting any new work in here...
...I don't plan to do so in the future either.
The reason?....uhm....I'm not exactly sure but I just haven't felt like it at all.
Don't take it personally. I still look at peoples' work...if that makes a difference...
My internal affairs project isn't over, although now it's just my armchair project
and it's not limited inside dA. I won't be posting any potential results in here.
I might be posting some small samples in my personal website or in lj
or in myspace as a means to finding other people to work with
but my thought at the moment is to turn it into a book.
uhm...what else?...
...well if you have any questions just ask....ok? ok! (yes...I like replying to myself).

Here is my personal website ----> ostanine.net
Don't expect to find the type of work you see in here or in ~studio42
if you don't like it, don't be sad. It's ok. :chew:

~kumimonster might be posting some of the work we do together.

Oh...and if you are interested in reading random news about my boring self
once a month or something like that...go here ----> [link]
it's got some photos too and some "pics" but not many...

Thank you.
